Day 1Arrive in Venice
Welcome to Italy! Settle into your hotel, then join a welcome reception and orientation walk through Venice’s enchanting streets and waterways.
Day 2Venice — Murano & San Marco
Visit a Murano glass factory for a live glass-blowing demonstration, then explore Piazza San Marco and the iconic Basilica. The afternoon is yours to wander.
Day 3Bologna & on to Florence
Explore Bologna’s celebrated food culture before continuing to Florence for an evening orientation of this Renaissance jewel.
Day 4Florence — David & the Duomo
A guided walking tour leads to the Accademia Gallery to see Michelangelo’s David, followed by free time to explore the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and local boutiques.
Day 5Orvieto, Wine Tasting & Rome
Stop in hilltop Orvieto for a wine tasting, then arrive in Rome for an afternoon visit to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
Day 6Rome at Leisure
A full free day to explore the Eternal City. Optional excursions include the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, or wander Trastevere’s cobblestone streets.
Day 7Pompeii & Sorrento
Tour the remarkably preserved ruins of Pompeii with a local archaeologist, then continue to beautiful Sorrento on the Bay of Naples.
Day 8Isle of Capri
Ferry to the legendary Isle of Capri for a day of independent exploration — ride the funicular, browse the Piazzetta, and take in the views from the Gardens of Augustus.
Day 9Positano & the Amalfi Coast
Visit the pastel-hued village of Positano, then cruise along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, one of the most scenic stretches of coastline in the world.
Day 10Departure from Sorrento
Your Italian adventure concludes this morning. Transfer to Naples airport or extend your stay in Sorrento at your leisure.
